30 things to achieve before the age of 30

These are the hand-picked ones that I absolutely love!

I first wrote 20 of them on Quora and got a great response.

I decided to give a refined touch with better details as I have been collecting them for the past decade from multiple mentorship programs, events, courses, the world’s best selling books, and personal experience.

A significant number of successful people have repetitively mentioned some of them.

The list covers health, wealth, love, and happiness. (In the same order of how Tai Lopez teaches, detailed are added from multiple sources and then moves to the stage of wisdom)

  1. Good healthy diet – Health is wealth; the only good and permanent home every human being has is their mind and body. As long as both of these things are fit, you can do anything in life. The good food = The good life.

  2. Fit body – Taking out 30 to 45 mins a day, 4 to 5 days a week for a workout can drastically improve health. It also helps in uplifting mood, increasing focus, removing all the toxic waste and increasing quality of life.

Adding a sport is a good alternative to workout. Apart from the health benefits, It helps you understand the essence of team spirit, teamwork, stay with like-minded individuals which can be a start of a good network or continuing to already existing one.

  3. Calm mind – In this busy and always running life, it’s natural to get consumed by unimportant things and tasks.

By daily 10 mins a day meditation, you can rise above and overcome the worldly noises to get a bigger picture perspective to only do things that matter.

  4. Personal Library – Readers are leaders. Every successful person, like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos, reads.

Warren Buffett reads 500 to 600 pages daily; earlier he used to read 800 to 1000 pages daily, he said, he has slowed down in old age.

Building the reading habit from the early days can help you understand life better, achieve things that might not have been possible, get solutions and hints to complicated problems even before they arise and everything that falls under the sun.

Start building your personal library. The quality of books you read will determine the direction of your life.

  5. Constant learning – Gather extra knowledge. Apart from what you learn from school, college, or other formal education institutions.

Take out extra time and consume knowledge from books, courses, podcasts, videos, group coaching, private mentorships.

In life, learning should never stop! It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but what if the mind of the old dog is always young? Focus on learning and exploring!

  6. Implementation – The difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person is – the implementation.

The habit of implementation matters a lot. There is no point in being a constant learner if you cannot implement.

The constant implementation allows you to leverage things in your favour.

Hack – Implement what you learn with 24 to 48 hours of learning, your knowledge grasping power will significantly increase, and you won’t have to revise much.

    Lesson from Micheal Jordan
Someone asked Micheal Jordan’s coach, “What is the single best thing about Micheal?”
Micheal Jordan’s coach replied, “Micheal implements his learning instantly.”
  7. Becoming Debt Free – A lot of people have huge amounts of debt in their life due to education, health, or some other reason.

One of the most satisfying feelings in the world is, you are debt-free.

It is hard to achieve, but it is not impossible.

Step one – Find out how much debt is there.
Step two – Find out the earnings per month from all sources.
Step three – Find out your cost of living. In other words, the money you spend each month to fulfil your needs and wants. Consistently work to reduce this number to the lowest.

Out of your earnings, keep something for the rainy day. Rest put in to clear your debt. Do it consistently to get debt-free.

  8. Leverage credit cards – People who use credit cards would be able to relate to this – When you spend from credit card, you feel you paid twice. Once, when you actually made the purchase; twice, when you actually have to pay the credit card bill.

It’s first alluring to use the money as it is there but gives a mini-heart-attack when you have to pay huge amounts of credit card bills. It hampers your budget.

Only use credit cards when you actually understand, on how you can leverage it in your favour.

  9. Kill the shiny object syndrome – “If you buy things you don’t need, you will have to sell things you do need.”

If you don’t actively watch yourself, you might end up getting in debt again.

Stats reveal people are exposed to 2,000 to 10,000 ads in a single day. Companies have great marketers that try to sell you their products every day. FOMO is hard, but don’t give in. Only buy what you really need right now, not tomorrow, not next week. Today.

  10. Super Savings – Open up a separate bank account and transfer at least 10% of your earnings every month to your separate bank account (call it super savings account, a name I kept) and never touch the account! Keep it for the next generation when they are 25 something.

Grant Cardone uses a similar technique that is detailed out in his book Millionaire booklet.

  11. Rainy day fund – In your main bank account, keep another 10% of your earnings. So that just in case any emergency comes up, the extra stack of cash would be there to help you.

  12. Multiple streams of income – Never put all your eggs in one basket. Develop multiple streams of income – one stream at a time, build a system around it to make scalable and profitable.

  13. Build systems and processes – While building multiple streams of income, set up systems and processes by constant documentation and delegating the work.

Regularly ask yourself – if you suddenly go somewhere, would your work be stopped? Would your income decline?

As long as the answer is yes, keep refining your systems and processes.

  14. Understanding and optimising taxes – You might have heard about the people who are at the top are taking all the tax benefits. If you have started earning, it’s time to get an accountant and understand taxes from a professional point of view and leverage it to your use case.

  15. Asset building mindset – Robert T. Kiyosaki says, “Whatever puts money in your pocket is an Asset, whatever takes money out of your pocket is a Liability. Make sure your assets are always greater than your liabilities.”

Following this approach to life can save you from a lot of financial troubles.

  16. Art of speaking – Ability to put the right words with right tonality, emotions, voice-variation, putting the facts instead of hype on the table to prove your point can help you win or lose the conversation.

Many times, you will get an opportunity to do something that involves speaking, working on a project as a team leader, representing your organisation at someplace, or being the right leader. (You don’t have to prove yourself right when you are wrong, just accept it when you are wrong.)

If you have mastered the art of speaking, these situations will turn out in your favour.

  17. Self-love – Self-love is a crucial ingredient for improving the quality of life.

You can master being an introvert where you can sit alone for hours, days, weeks, and month and work alone on your things, come up with solutions, unload, declutter life, and enjoy the “me time” (taking care of yourself, rewarding yourself).

When you turn 30, if you have practised self-love and self-care for years, you will be able to continue it; otherwise, it would be missed with a lot of responsibilities coming up.

  18. Learn to say NO – As we grow in the right direction, there would be a lot of opportunities popping in front of us daily!

Everyone wanting to share something or wanting some URGENT help; if we say yes to everything we won’t be able to get enough time for ourselves.

Understand that Less is more and saying NO is crucial!

  19. Ambivert Evolution – After mastering the art of speaking (being extrovert) and self-love (being introvert), you should focus on how to switch extrovert to introvert or vice-versa depending on what the situation wants from you. The sweet spot is becoming an ambivert.

  20. Networking and creating impact – When you have done enough work, you should go to a lot of networking events. Interact with people, build some networking friends around yourself.

Regular networking habits will lead to many connections and contacts which can be leveraged in business and life.

  21. Close Relations: After networking with a lot of people, you will start understanding the people. Convert those excellent connections and contacts to deep and meaningful relations.

If you want to get something done that is not your area of expertise, the people in your network will be your strength. You would get a better quality of work due to prior trust, relations, and you can also ask for some discounts, haha!

  22. Inner circle – Inner circle is the deepest level of bonds you develop over the years. They become your family-like friends, having close people who are present in your ups and downs can help you add an extra layer of confidence in life.

  23. Developing hobbies – Children play all day long, and still don’t get tired. Why is that?

Because they do what they love.

Spare out an hour a day for your hobbies. Where you can learn a new language, learn how to cook (maybe prepare your signature dishes that can be passed down to your next generation), join a sport, learn a musical instrument, anything that you wanted to do. But have been delaying it for a long time or maybe want to do it in future. Do it now.

Sparing out one hour a day for yourself won’t be the end of the world. It would rather increase your energy levels and boost confidence.

  24. Travel and explore – Travel to at least 5 countries and stay there for a minimum of 2 months; it is crucial to building the courage that will go a long way in your life.

Various books insist on intensive travelling due to benefits like learning something from every place, exploring cultures, understanding people, trying different food, learn habits that you want to engrave in yourself.

Pick things from your travel life that you like then, design and engrave them your life. Make it your masterpiece.

Another benefit – When you travel, you have stories to tell. You can also use this in the art of speaking.

  25. Don’t feel stuck – You should have the freedom that your work should never weigh you down. Your life structure should be developed in such a way that you can drop what you are doing and leave to anywhere you want without losing anything.

  26. Solution-oriented approach – Develop a habit of solving things. Whenever you are stuck in a situation where you don’t have answers or the problem is harder. Ask yourself by:

    How do I solve “…”?
    Or
    How do I learn “…”?

Fill the “…” with your problem, restructure your sentences.

Adding these simple questions can shift your mind from being stuck in the problem to developing a solution-oriented approach. A lot of talented people miss this quality.

You just have to stick to problems long enough for your mind to understand and give them enough time to solve.

There is no shortcut, the more problems you solve, the better your speed of solving would be.

  27. Don’t Show-off – Warren Buffet lives in the same house he bought for $31,500 in 1958; Mark Zuckerberg wears the same grey T-Shirt every day.

People who show a lot of wealth are not usually wealthy,

Remember – “The goal is to be rich, not to look rich.”

  28. Give back to the world – Focus on helping the people in need (people who need mentorships and advise, less fortunate people) help them grow by right education, funds, or anything possible.

  29. Build your core value system – After trying and testing a lot of things. You would have developed your thinking patterns. Trust your gut and instincts and follow what you believe is right.

  30. Age is just a Number – Warren Buffett earned 99% of his current wealth after his 50th Birthday; Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC, started KFC at the age of 62. Don’t let age define your success.
